A 1959 Gibson Les Paul TV Special.. Has had a broken neck (at the heal) long ago but expertly repaired. There is an area of refinished paint around the area of the repair. It must have been done a long time ago because it ‘black lights’ ok. The pots have been changed… two are 1970, one is 1997 and the other’s code is covered by solder…the ‘bumble bee’ capacitors are original. Pickups, Frets, Knobs, Pickguard, Jack Plate, Truss rod cover, Switch, tuner bushings and strap buttons are all original… Tuners are reissue Klusons (I have the originals but they don’t work very well).. The bridge is a very accurate replica as well.. not sure who it’s made by but it seems to have been there for a longtime. The switch tip is a reissue. The nut is an exact replica of an original 59 made of the same Nylon material and recently fitted. At sometime it has had the tuner holes slightly enlarged.. I’m not sure why but as the holes are too small for Grover/Schaller type replacements and there are no extra screw holes! It has had and extra strap button added in the usual place once, but now gone… although the hole for it remains.
